BUILDING MODELS OF RACIAL/CULTURAL UNITY IN THE WORKPLACE: KEY ELEMENTS OF THE PROCESS

[This is a sample outline. All of our programs can be customized to suit your needs.]

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Because of the historical role race has played and does play in our society, it can become a factor in the workplace.  The ability to dialogue constructively about perceptions, experiences and solutions is proving essential in building bonds of unity.  Where there is unity, there is creativity and productivity.  Where there is disunity and disconnection, productivity, morale, and creativity suffer.  Although issues and concerns may not be expressed openly, they often exist just below the surface and unconsciously undermine morale, motivation and consequently productivity.  Healthy, open, non-intimidating, non-blaming, and frank dialogue can help open the way to a more vibrant work force.  The purpose of this training, as with all our training, is to build models of unity while maintaining our diversity.

TRAINING METHODS

The facilitators use an interactive means of instruction, including large and small group discussions, videos, role playing, individual exercises and assessments.
